struck by lightning

once upon a time, there was a boy.

i watched the greatest movie yesterday. in a lot of ways, it made me realize a lot of things and gave me perspective on life and its worth. i can't really pin point a certain part of the movie that didn't inspire me. it was great, and i guess what makes it so special to me is that i sort of relate to it in a more emotional kind of way.

carson phillips is an inspiring person, whether he be fictional or not.

"because a life without meaning, without drive or focus, without goals or dreams isn't a life worth living. life comes at you fast... it runs through your body and tries to escape and be expressed in any way possible. in a way, it's a lot like lightning."

it's okay to dream. more than okay. dreaming is our way of knowing that we're going to become someone someday and hopefully change the world. it's okay to be driven by passion and everything that inspires you, but it's not okay to take the passing moments for granted and spend half your life creating the future you want that's still yet to come.

once upon a time, there was a boy who wanted to fly.

i think one of the lessons i learned from the movie is that we shouldn't worry so much about the future because we're still living in the present. we spend most of our time worrying about what's going to happen someday and planning so far ahead that we forget to enjoy the moment. savor each and every aspect of what's happening now and just relish in it, because we'll never know when life takes us by surprise and in a blink of an eye, we're gone.

all those dreams and plans we spent most of our time thinking about will just be gone. poof.

it's sad just thinking about it.

did you ever stop and think of what you've accomplished so far and how amazing you are because you're still here and that you get to enjoy every single moment of your life and accomplish even bigger and greater things?

i can't begin to explain the rest of the movie because i can't find the right words to express how beautiful and amazingly chris colfer has written the book and played the role.

breathtakingly remarkable, safe to say.
